Celiac Disease Symptoms : Before looking at what are the symptoms of celiac disease let’s first find what is celiac disease?

What are the Most Common Symptoms of Celiac Disease?

Celiac disease is caused by inflammatory contact of gliadin and enzyme tissue. Inflammation affects the small intestine and also disturbs its ability to absorb nutrients. Celiac disease damage Villi, which play a crucial part in absorbing nutrients and proteins into the blood stream. Most common celiac disease symptoms include:

  • malnutrition
  • mouth ulcers
  • dental and bone disorders
  • weight loss
  • aching joints
  • iron deficiency
  • intestinal distress
  • bloating
  • cramping
  • diarrhea
  • constipation
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • fatigue
  • depression and stomach discomfort.

Diagnosis and Test:
To confirm the presence of celiac disease in a person, doctors test them for raised levels of auto antibodies. These antibodies fabricate when they sense gluten in the body. If the test indicates celiac disease, doctors perform a small intestine biopsy. Old people tend to recover in 2-3 years, whereas children or young people may recover within a few weeks. This disease is also inherited, so if any of the family members is facing it, others might have 10-20% risk of having that disease.

Remedy- Change Your Diet:
Research has proven that gluten free diet is an effective treatment for celiac patients. Most symptoms of celiac disease will begin to vanish after a patient adopts a strict gluten free life style.  Gluten free diet minimizes celiac disease level and prevents long term damage to intestines. Gluten free food items are widely available at all stores to facilitate patients.
Celiac disease symptoms fade if proper medication is taken along with regular exercise. It is always highly advisable to consult a doctor before taking any medication and in case of celiac, more care should be taken.
